From Monday, daily tasks will be set for English and Maths through Class Dojo and Doodlemaths for those children working from home. Children will be required to complete a daily English and Maths task as well as choose from a list of afternoon foundation subjects.
Daily Checklist
On top of this, below are the daily expectations for children in Year 5:
| Reading | Every child should spend an average of 15 minutes reading daily. We ask that that the book title, page numbers and a small comment are recorded in their home-contact book each day. They can complete this themselves, we just ask that you check to ensure they are reading each day and sign their book each week to confirm that they have completed their reading. |

| Maths | The children in Kestrels have all been given a Doodle Maths login, which we encourage them to use to practise every day - they have a 'daily 5' to practise. We will also be setting daily work to be completed and can monitor this remotely. |
| Times Tables | Children are expected to continue to practice their timestables and test themselves, against the clock through both TTRS and on paper. |
| Spellings | Each week, the children will have 10 words to learn based around a theme (e.g. homophones). Children will practice these words at home and it would be great if you could test them weekly. |
| Handwriting | Handwriting should be practiced daily. As part of the Home Learning pack that has been sent home, children can practice their joins using our school handwriting scheme. |
| Foundation subjects | We will set a daily challenge for children to complete to develop their foundation subjects. |
