Inspired by our recent Art work on Claude Monet, Year 4 took a walk to Beckett House to do some sketching 'en plein air'. We felt very lucky to be in such a beautiful place in the sunshine!
We went to Coleshill to kick-start our topic on Rivers: We went dipping in the River Cole, went on a nature walk, learned about how a mill works and tried our hand at willow weaving - it was such an awesome day!
We enjoyed getting stuck in to a DT project at the very end of the Spring Term. We made moving dragons which were remote-controlled by a pneumatic system! They were ROAR-some!!
We used wax resist and watercolour inks to create some rainy pictures
Our new topic is 'Extreme Earth' and, in Art, we created these stormy weather pictures using both chalk and oil pastel. We used a limited colour palette to make them look really moody.
In Year 4 we designed and made our own pizzas for our D&T project. We taste tested them too...yum, yum!
Year 4 Roman Experience Day....togas, mosaics, shields and battle formations! A fantastic day was had by all!
PerimbotsWe have been learning about perimeter and we used this website to test our knowledge
We learned about Roman aqueducts; we then made and tested our own mini ones to see how effective they were!
We made our own Roman Shields - we can't wait to use them as part of our Toga Day activities!
We learned about firework safety and we created these stunning firework pictures!
To begin our computing work on animations, we first tried it the old fashioned way and had fun making these thaumatrope toys!
We recreated the layers of a Roman road using biscuits, custard and chocolates. We enjoyed learning about Roman roads and we enjoyed eating them after...yum!
