We believe Homework should never be seen as a chore. It should be an extension of the learning in school and an opportunity to explore.
When used correctly, homework can play a positive role in helping children to learn and make progress. However, we also acknowledge the important role play and free time have in sustaining a child’s growth and development. While homework is important in providing opportunities for independent learning and the development of fluency in reading and number skills, it should not prevent children from taking part in the activities of other organisations that play an equally important role in a child’s development. We are well aware that children spend more time at home than at school and we believe that they develop their interests and skills to the full only when parents/carers encourage them to make maximum use of the opportunities available outside school.
