Spellings

Learning spellings is a new skill for Blackbirds. The new list will be stuck into their Home-School contact book each Thursday. The words all follow a spelling pattern or rule and are comprised of words that Year 1 children are expected to spell correctly by the end of the year. Spelling comes easy to some lucky children; others have to work hard at it. You can help your child learn them by using the 'look, cover, write, check' approach. Finding other words that follow the spelling rule. Seeing how many times they can write the word in 1 minute. Come and talk to Mrs Andrews if you want any advice.
