Eagles 2016-2017

Amazing Americas

This term our topic is all about America. We are studying the continent and have been learning about the different countries that make up America. I wonder if we can learn the song for the 50 States of America? Throughout our topic, we will be comparing the climate and the land to the UK. We will end by planning our own trip to America. I wonder what we could see? (If only Mr Quinn would let us go!)

Goodnight Mister Tom

This term our topic work is all based around 'Goodnight Mister Tom' by Michelle Magorian. Eagles class are thoroughly enjoying reading the book and finding out more about World War II.

Congratulations to our School Council representatives for this year:

  • Clarice Sturgeon
  • Harry Rigden

Congratulations to our House Captains for this academic year:

  • Maite Schreiner for Raleigh
  • Marit Tweehijsen for Drake
  • Cody Hastie for Cook
  • Katie Revill for Scott

Space

We started the Autumn term, in Year 5 and 6, with our topic on 'Space.' We studied the 'Big Bang Theory' of how the universe was created; we looked at the different star constellations and wrote biographies about famous astronauts.

'Welcome to Watchfield' Week

During the first week of term, we completed our local area study. This year, we studied the wind turbines at Westmill Wind Farm. We enjoyed making our own wind turbines in Science, creating our own collage pictures of the wind turbines in Art and finding out the names of the turbines in during Computing.
